Mr. Tipton is an artist exploring poetry, oil paintings, spatial experiences, and letterpress printed goods.

I’m a web developer and graphic designer turned letterpress printer. For over 17 years, I created brands, websites, prints, packaging, and products for amazing clients.
Mr. Tipton is an attempt to utilize that skillset to do the things I’ve always wanted to do, but never seemed to have the space or time to fully explore them.
'Difficult times make you question how you use time overall. Last I checked, we don't get any of it back...'
This isn’t about presenting a polished brand, a perfect product, or having it all figured out. It’s just about honing my craft, slowly, piece by piece, while having a little fun creating art—and hoping you'll stick around for the journey.
Oil Painting
Currently studying 18th-century techniques utilizing glazing over underpainting (grisaille) to understand how the artists of this period achieved such luminosity and depth.
Even with quick-drying additives, glazing takes a great level of patience and planning. As the previous layer must be completely dry before painting the next. This can take anywhere from two days to a week to dry. While some mistakes can be corrected, having to paint over a bad glaze can ruin the effect entirely.
Public Poetry Project
Curates poetry compilations featuring many different styles of writers and distributes the poetry for free as an ebook and more.
Topics
The two topics will be Love and Horror—the opposing forces of the human experience. Life in its most simplest form. Save Curiosity slipping in, whispering its own name...
